There will be consequences if a team is ‘tanking’ their season. The following scenarios will result in the subsequent consequences-
- A team does not set a valid roster for two consecutive weeks, they will be replaced. After the first week the owner will be contacted via PM and email and given a warning. After the second offense, the owner will be replaced immediately.
-If a team is over the salary cap after Week 16 (on the 17 week schedule) by a significant amount, they will be replaced immediately. If the amount over the cap is reasonably small, the owner may be granted a 24 hr grace period to get under the cap limit upon owners request. Staff will determine as a committee whether the given scenario is a ‘reasonable’ amount over the cap. Please do not test this one and just remain under the cap.
-A team leaves active roster spots empty and has available players at that position on their bench for a week, they will receive a warning via PM and email. For the second week (consecutive or not) the highest draft pick the team has will be bumped down 5 slots. The third week this occurs the pick will be bumped down 15 more slots. Staff will keep a record of the penalties and assess them during the Rookie Draft. A fourth offense will result in being banned from the league.
