I already told you - its completely ridiculous that a "salary cap" league can have bidding like that... i understand that there should be a cushion - to accomodate trades and signings in lieu of dropping a player - but 30 million over? are you kidding - thats just silly...

thats my last complaint about it - i know the rules are the rules - just sick of getting overbid by people already that high over the cap.... and they all lived happily ever after - the end

those teams all have players they are gonna cut eventually. so ur sayin those teams over should have to cut the players right away, instead of waiting for preseason? i can vouch for that- maybe u can be 10 mil over but that is it

yea thats what i was saying - i understand a 10 -15% cushion because thats justifiable - but come on some of these teams are ridiculous and they just outbid people - sign them and trade them for draft picks - wait i said no more complaints....

i dont think anyone has done that yet- and that is kind of dumb- signing a guy and trading him for picks, the other team could have just signed him for the same contract- so that scenario hasnt happened and wouldnt make sense-but... i do agree they should have to cut their players right away so everyone can bid on them when free agency is going strong

a 15 mil cushion is conservative enough

ive been offered trades - immediately after a player won a bid - on someone that I was bidding on but they went too high - id stop b!tchin if the overage cap was 10 mil - even thats high but i wouldnt have any grief then...

and obviously u didnt take the trade because that is stupid- giving picks to inherit a contract that u could have just bid for. who cares, its their fault, if they are over then they will forfeit but...the only reason to have a 10 mil cushion would be to make teams cut their overpaid players right away

on one hand I agree we should have a cushion in the off season to allow trades and waivers but on the other hand in my case I have 2 players, jake and LT who are unsigned and a db whose total salaries are about 24 mill. I don't plan to keep these players for next year but I don't see a reason why I can't hold on to them to see if they get picked up and I can maybe trade them for cash, picks or cheap players. So if you look at it this way I am really only over the cap by 6-7 mill, an acceptable cushion.

most situations are just like u NO, i think it angers some people (GB), but its just strategy and u are all just waiting to cut them. i dont think its terribly wrong as u guys will have to be under the cap by preseason anyway

I like the rule just the way it is. Don't get me wrong... GB, I understand where your coming from and it is frustrating. But, In the end it all comes down to managing your team. Houston said it perfect when he said these teams that are over the cap will start cutting good players in order to make the cap... So, in a way, we should just look at this as the first round of FA. Sometime before Pre season we will see round two!!! We should just let it run it's corse... It will all work out in the end, I'm sure of it!!

Arizona I think your round one now, round two around preseason is an excelent analogy. Sure there are going to be some big ticket players cut from many rosters just before the season starts as it becomes necessary to meet the cap restriction. GB I would look at it as an excellent opportunity to have quality players hit FA for months to come as inflated teams will be shedding quality players and everyone playing will have a shot at picking them up.

My beef is exactly what the Packers said, but it is only problem in the short run, not the long run because everyone has to be under the cap. It seems like a constant problem though because the offseason in this league is just as long as the offseason in the NFL. Most other fantasy leagues have rapid turnaround as you just have a draft every year in August or September.
